![]() The effort and combat system ended up feeling flat. Instead the game flows on rails through 3 contained locations with the subquests being short diversions. I want to experience the Endless Battle, going to an artificial moon, exploring strange dungeons full of ancient evils in search of numenera. There is no real sense of exploration, and it suffers from the terrible curse that most of the really cool things you hear about happen off camera, in Meres or in the lore. The game is simply too short, contained and linear to feel like a real roleplaying game. And not just because the ending is absolutely terrible. I have defended the game several times, and disagree with several common criticisms (like the 'everything is too weird' when it is literally just part of the feel of Numenera) but even I am having trouble giving the game any sort of glowing review after actually finishing and reflecting on the game. But come on, not enough for a bad review.Įdit3: Thanks for all the replies. And for the second playthrough with Torment, I already got myself new stuff to entertain my brain for 20 more hours.Įdit: I understand you wanted more humor, more places to visit etc. I finished Planescape and all the others more times than I can count. Still, the only thing that disappointed me was reaching the end too fast. Of course this is my perspective, and my perspective alone. Even with its flaws, it doesn't deserve a negative review. Just think about it please.Īgain, the game was made with love. If the game did indeed deserve a negative review. So, if you're an old school gamer like myself, if you lost half of your childhood playing games like Planescape, IWD, BG, etc, and if you gave Torment a bad review. I've seen the profiles of some of the negative reviewers thinking "oh, kids nowadays", but no.doesn't seem like they were kids. The graphics.who cares about graphics when we're playing TORMENT?! Content? It's almost a book the damn game, more content will surely follow as DLC or something else. If you loved it and it's too short, replay it and see what changes (I did just that.wonderful NEW stuff). Mixed is for crappy games, not for a highly complex, brilliantly written game like Torment.this game was made with love for sakes. ![]() Why the flying fleck are they giving negative reviews on steam? It's now a "mixed" reviewed game. When you meet already all 5 women, the time to solve their mystery.I would have thought old school gamers like myself would love the game like I did, even if it's "short" for a fast reader like I am. Sigyn, the Captain of Levies, was one of the affected women, but she managed to escape her fate. You will meet her during The Sorrow's Prey Quest. When she was alive, she was confused about her identity and felt that she was supposed to become someone else. Seria, the adopted daughter of the castoff Orseolo, seems to have been one of the affected women. Loss-of-self, an emotionally disturbed young woman I met in Cliff's Edge, is one of the affected women. Kiyatawa, a member of the Dendra O'Hur, is one of the affected women. Daughter's Fathom location is related to Ashen Imitation Quest.įirst time you come here when talking to Ghostly Woman in The Fifth Eye Tavern 11, let the ghost strangle you, die and you will wake up here.Įach next time when you want to come in here, talk to Tranquility and ask him about trance.īefore you will be able to solve this location you have to find five women.Īvina, a young girl who lives in Cliff's Edge, was hearing the ghost's voice in her dreams, but she drove it out of her mind by sheer force of will.
